Fledgelings are a relaxed and informal baby and toddler playgroup for parents/carers and their little angels.
Every term time Tuesday 1.45 pm – 3.30 pm in the St James Church Centre – Just turn up!
Fledgelings is a safe haven in a hectic week. We run so that mums, dads and carers can briefly surface in the company of those who understand what parenting can be like!
For children there is a large, well-equipped playroom. We tell them a story, and together we enjoy singing songs and bashing instruments, as well as messy craft to do. Sometimes, we even get the glitter out, but only when the cleaners aren’t looking!
A drink and snack is provided for the children and while they are distracted, you get some peace, tea, freshly made cake, and all the company, friendship, understanding or advice you might want. But if you just need to sit quietly in the corner, too tired to talk, that’s fine as well – we’ve all been there!
We run special events at Christmas, Easter and when we just feel like it, but rest assured, they are designed to maximise fun for the children, and minimise effort for their grown-up companions.
Do come along, you are very welcome, every Tuesday during term time in the St James church centre, from 1.45 until 3.30pm.
There is a small charge of £1.50 per family, half of which goes towards running the group, the other half to charity.
