A very warm welcome from the Parish of Finchampstead and California!

Comprising the three churches of St James, Finchampstead, St Mary and St John, California and St. Eligius Church, Arborfield Green (previously the army garrison church at Arborfield) the Parish of Finchampstead and California is a Church of England parish within the Deanery of Sonning, itself part of the Diocese of Oxford.

See here for details on how to find us.  Our aim is to be a place where young or old can come to hear the good news about Jesus; to explore the Christian faith together; and to share with others the fun and excitement of being part of an active church community.Worship is at the heart of our church life and we have a wide range of forms of worship, as you will see from the Worship section of our website.

We hope you will find our website informative and useful and look forward to welcoming you to our churches.

If you have queries not answered here please do contact the Parish Office – alternatively take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

Online Livestreamed Sunday Services

We are truly sorry to have not been able live stream our service on Sunday 22nd March  on our YouTube channel as planned.
This is due to YouTube limitations on streaming over mobiles.
We did live stream on our Facebook page and the video is now uploaded on the YouTube channel.

We are now planning to live stream on our Facebook page each week and then upload to the YouTube channel as soon as possible.

Join us at 11.00am Sunday 29th March on Facebook for a live-streamed service from Revd Gemma’s home or watch it later when uploaded on to our YouTube channel

Help us by subscribing to our You Tube Channel , which is free of charge , so that we can live-stream directly onto that. We need 1,000 subscribers to do this. You can join in to the live-streamed service by adding comments and greetings.

Aerial Video of St James’ Church

We now also have this fabulous aerial video of St James’ Church and its surroundings thanks to Steve Powers who took this video using his small “quadcopter” with mounted high definition video camera…

This is purely a hobby for Steve but you can see further examples of his aerial filming at http://aerial.spowers.co.uk/
