Remembrance Services

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions we are not able to hold either our usual 10.50am service at St. James or the 3pm Parade service. Both of these will be online services in our usual manner.

On Sunday 8th November there will be a pre-recorded 10.50am service of remembrance following our usual service.

There will also be a 3pm service which will follow the usual pattern of the afternoon parade service.

As the memorial cross is inaccessible due to the roads around it remaining open we as a Parish will be offering a safe, easily accessible space on the green area at the entrance of the Church (the land opposite the Queens Oak), with a cross, the memorial names and some prayers on laminated sheets. This will be a Garden of Remembrance for people to visit, pray, lay wreaths and add poppies to. This Remembrance Garden in the Church grounds will be available from 3pm on Monday 2nd November until Wednesday 11th November. On Remembrance Day (11/11) Canon John and Rev Gemma will relocate any poppies and wreaths left at the garden to the memorial cross.
