World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – Sat 29th Sep

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support 10-12noon Saturday 29th September 2018 hosted by St. Eligius at Arborfield Green Community Centre.

Sunday 23rd September Cake Sale after 9:30am & 11am services at St James’ with Sophia Medhurst raising funds for her trip to Italy and Croatia with the South East England Girl Guiding Group.

Wokingham to Viry-Chatillon cycle challenge completed!

At 4pm on Sat 23rd June the Finch Cruisers Cycling Club (including David Booth, Jan van den Burg and Dave Judge from our congregation) successfully completed their 225 mile cycle ride to Wokingham’s twin town of Viry-Chatillon just south of Paris in aid of two local charities: The Link Visiting Scheme and The Diana Camidge Foundation

The team were sent off by the Wokingham Town mayor and received a fabulous welcome reception hosted by the Viry-Chatillon mayor at their annual town fete.

Final figures for Christian Aid Week

Thank you to all who supported Christian Aid Week.

£1847.56 was raised – £1002.71 from House to House Collection, £225.05 Street Collection, £619.80 church collections & events.

We also delivered an additional 1100 envelopes promoting giving directly by text/online.

JAC thanks

Thank you to everyone in the parish who supported JAC on their Gift Sunday last month.

£295.50 plus Gift Aid was raised, and this will go towards supported living for vulnerable adults.

Churchyard Trust Tea thanks

A very big thank you to all for a record tea – those who baked and brought cakes and gave generous donations – for the maintenance of the churchyard.

Details as follows: Bring & Buy £160, raffle £93, and teas & cakes £361.

100 Square board for Churchyard Maintenance

Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraising by buying squares that raised another £100 for the churchyard.

Traidcraft thanks

Many thanks to all who supported the recent Traidcraft stalls.

Parish total for sales & orders was £401.28.  Donations given of £11.45 will be sent to Traidcraft Exchange which provides training and help for producers and co-operatives.

Sound of Music Sing-a-long thanks

Thank you to everyone who supported the afternoon tea and sing-a-long, raising over £200 for church funds.

Future requests include “Frozen”, “Mamma Mia” and “Grease”.
