Brass for Africa thanks

BRASS FOR AFRICA event in December  raised a fantastic £129.82.  Thank you very much to all who attended and for donations of instruments and other items.

Youth Group Gala thanks

Youth Group Gala: a great big thank you to all those families who were involved in any way in the Gala Evening on Saturday 8th December.
We raised £230!!!  The acting and singing was awesome!

Churchyard Trust Tea Party thanks

Very many thanks to everyone who supported this event. £437 was raised for the care and maintenance of our lovely churchyard.

Teenage Cancer Trust fundraiser

Congratulations to Hotwire – a band comprised of teenagers from St James (Tom van den Berg, Sam Brice, Matt Booth,  Will Judge. Lukas Sehringer and Nathan Collins) – for putting on a concert along with two other local teenage bands to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.   Here’s the press cutting from the Wokingham Times…

Apollo5 Concert Thanks

A BIG thank you to everyone who came and supported this brilliant concert on Saturday Evening, we are delighted to say that £623 was raised for general church funds.

Conservation Fund thanks

Thank you to everyone who responded to our final appeal over the summer to clear the outstanding debt on the conservation work. The response has been so generous that it looks as though there will be a bit more than we needed. As I announced in church the plan is to put any surplus into the Friends of St James account so that the money will be used to maintain the church to the standard set by the conservation work. Christian Aid Collection thanks

The Christian Aid Collection: amounted to £1139 made up of donations from the congregation, plus £130 from the cake sale. With Gift Aid the total amount was approx. £1300. Many thanks to all who gave so generously.

Flower Team Thanks

 A big thank you to everyone who supported our cake and book sale. A total of £153 was raised.

Children’s Society Collection

A total of £346.71 [excluding Gift Aid] was collected by our house box holders this year. A big thank you to everyone who donated.

Cakes Sale result

A really big thank you to all our supporters for last Sunday’s Home-made Cakes Sale and Raffle.  Karen’s Cake Creation, 1st prize, was won by John Sefton, whilst the champagne goes to Kate, one of our Family Service congregation members. The combined takings raised an amazing £242 for church funds. Our special thanks go to Nicholas, Jessica and Milly who gave up their Sunday morning to help.  Sally, Handbells team.
