Traidcraft thanks

Many thanks to all who supported the recent Traidcraft stalls.

Parish total for sales & orders was £401.28.  Donations given of £11.45 will be sent to Traidcraft Exchange which provides training and help for producers and co-operatives.

Sound of Music Sing-a-long thanks

Thank you to everyone who supported the afternoon tea and sing-a-long, raising over £200 for church funds.

Future requests include “Frozen”, “Mamma Mia” and “Grease”.

Recent Christian Aid Collections

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to recent appeals.

At SJ the Christmas Appeal “Enough for Everyone” through One Card on the Tree raised £190 of which £85 was gift-aided and the Emergency Appeal raised £180 of which £50 was gift-aided.

At SMSJ the Christmas Appeal “Enough for Everyone” through One Card and Advent Charity Appeal raised £98.75 of which £57 was gift-aided.

Christingle Collections

The total amount raised for the Children’s Society from our three Christingle services was a wonderful £1399.86 plus some gift aid.

Short film – ‘The Bench’

Short film “The Bench” written, directed and edited by Anne Massey of Reading Film and Video Makers club during the summer of 2017 in and around St. James’ churchyard…

This film won the summer team challenge competition against 8 other entries, and also received a nomination for originality.

Berkshire Womens’ Aid thanks

A Big Thank You to all who so generously donated items for the Berkshire Womens’ Aid.

We delivered two very large car loads and the look on the faces of ladies as they helped unpack them said it all.

They were amazed, delighted, and extremely grateful

100 square board for Churchyard Maintenance

Result of latest 100 square board for Churchyard Maintenance.

The latest board drawn on 17 Dec saw Andy Thomas winning with number 66.

She took the £40 Tally Ho voucher but kindly donated back the two bottles of wine which were then won by Sue Sampson.
